The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued the following... WHAT...Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildfire Smoke. WHERE...Custer and southwestern Pueblo Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to Westcliffe, Rye, Beulah, and Colorado City. WHEN...900 AM Tuesday July 21 to 900 AM Wednesday July 22 IMPACTS...Moderate to heavy smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire is possible throughout the advisory area through at least Wednesday morning. HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults. Consider limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present. Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.

* WHAT...Flash flooding and debris flows caused by excessive rainfall are possible over the Aspen Acres burn scar. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Colorado, including the following areas, Pueblo County in the vicinity of the Aspen Acres burn scar, and the Wet Mountains Above 6300 Feet. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Heavy rainfall over the Aspen Acres burn scar is expected up to and during the period of the watch. Residents near the Aspen Acres burn scar should prepare for potential debris flow. Be sure to stay up to date with information from local authorities. Heavy rainfall could trigger flash flooding of low-lying areas, urbanized street flooding, and debris flows in and near recent wildfire burn scars. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - National Weather Service Meteorologists are forecasting heavy rainfall over the burn scar, which may lead to flash flooding and debris flows. - Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
